Thank you for sharing that Waiting. What a crack up!!! I have two cats, fortuately in the many years I have had them (one is almost seventeen) they have never smelled bad. Now that I have said that it will probably happen.
My mother-in-law sent me a cat bathing manual. Unfortunately, I have already deleted it. It was hysterical. This too was priceless.

Feeling desperate................
by nicolaou inplease listen.
im not the first to go through this, i wont be the last.. i was raised in the truth as a result of my mum starting a study when i was 4 years old.
that was in 1968. the hysteria of a 1975/armageddon was just beginning to take root and the sister who studied with my mum was 100% sure of it.

Dear Nic,
I don't think there is anything I can add to this out-pouring of love and concern. Every time I read of a situation where the WT makes it so difficult for families, it breaks my heart. How sad that their control can actually threaten the family structure.
Do follow your heart though, Nic, because if you don't you may have it "all" but not be true to yourself and that in itself will make you miserable.
The suggestions about rebuilding your family structure on a different foundation is excellent. Good Luck!!! If you and your wife have what you described, I have high hopes that this might work out for the best.
Simon and Angharad went through a similiar situation. You may want to email them and ask them for suggestions if perchance they don't see this thread. I understand she gave Simon a very hard time for awhile. But she is behind him 100% now.
Take heart, we are all feeling and rooting for you.

I Think That I Chose My Parents.
by Englishman indo you believe in reincarnation?.
i dont think i believe in it in the same way that most believers do, which is that we keep coming back in different fleshly bodies until we have achieved perfection.. i do, however, strongly suspect that we may well be spirit creatures who find it necessary to inhabit a fleshly body from time to time, and that this entails us having to leave behind most of our past memories.. i say most memories, because many people seem to have some vestigal recollections that don`t seem to fit in with earthly experiences.. i`m pretty sure that i chose my parents!
i have a recollection of being shown a young and kind couple through some form of astral telescope and choosing to become their son.

Interesting pick, Englishman, I have always had an affinity to the forties. Furniture, clothes, even music. I always have felt a special connection to that era. Any advice on where to find the book?

Englishman,
Leave it to you to start a great thread. First of all, I don't believe in the teaching of reincarnation. I don't think it is a graduated moving on from life to life improving on what we have learned in the past. I do believe in my own form of Karma.
I think life is a never ending over-lapping. And in that over-lapping sometimes we experience things that seem familiar.
I like Wendy, know for a certainty that Thinker and I have been together a very long time. Although in this life it has only been since last April. Without going into a lot of detail, there are just things we have experienced and know about each other that would be impossible without this fact. We too are soul mates and we found each other in the strangest way.
I have also had other experiences. Particularly when I was in Europe and we would be touring through buildings, and I would know my way around and know what was in the next room before we got there. At the time, I was an active witness and it was very disconcerting. I like RHW, thought it must demonic.
I think that we all have levels of these experiences in our lives, but some are more attuned than others. This is not based on any research on my part, just on personal experiences. Imagine my consternation while touring Dachau and hearing their screaming voices and smelling the stench. I couldn't wait to get out of there. You may put it down to a vivid imagination, but if you talk to anyone who truly knows me, imagination is not one of my better points.
I am trying to make this make sense, but there are so many thoughts running around in my head that I am not sure it will.
I for one, do not believe in the demons anymore as the Society teaches, but there are just too many documented examples of these situations. Add that to my own personal experiences and there must be some kind of explanation.
And what about the times when you have an inexplicable connection with another person. You know what they are going to say before they say it, even if you have just met them? I believe there is a scientific involvement here as well.

Ex Pat,
Thanks for the well put post. My parents automatically assumed that I was no longer upholding Bible principles.
Thinker and I believe they are secretly hoping our marriage will break up and I will "return to the flock". Sad huh? Considering they are totally aware of the hell I lived through with the ex who was a witness. Oh well, we can't change their mind set no matter what we say or do.
I too am sorry for your loss RN. Sad when they always blame it on something else. Not for the very real and should be obvious reasons!

Is therapy the answer?
by ShaunaC ini just finished reading the thread started by seven regarding therapy.
i saw that many of you have gone to counseling as well.
still others are cautious about it.

Shauna,
I did go through therapy. As you probably remember from other posts, I had more than just the control issue.
But I went through the crying uncontrollably thing. The great thing about therapy is that sometimes you go in for one specific issue and it tends to bring up other things that need to be taken care of just as much if not more than the original issue.
A lot of good advice was given here. It is definitely important to see someone you are comfortable with. Some people need it some can work through without it. Only you can decide that.
But I would definitely suggest you give it a try, if within a period of time that some of the problems you mentioned don't dissipate.
Roller Coaster,
I was amazed by some of the similiarities between us. Just seems like witness men cannot handle intelligent outspoken women. Thank god, I met Thinker, who likes it too. I am glad you found your guy!!! He will support you and help you work through your other issues. I too, think you don't give yourself enough credit. Sounds to me like "you have come a long way baby"!
I would email you but your box is locked, if you would like to chat feel free to email me!
